ACHIEVEMENT
OF OUR SCHOOL STUDENTS IN DISTRICT LEVEL SPORTS COMPETITIONS FOR THE TAMIL NADU
CHIEF MINISTER'S CUP FOR THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED CHILDREN
The
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Cup District-Level Sports Competition for the
Differently-Abled was held on 04.09.2025 at the Virudhunagar District Sports
Stadium, organized by the Virudhunagar District Sports Development Authority.
More than 100 differently-abled students from across the district participated
in the event.
A
total of 19 students from Rajapalayam Ritham Special School for the
Intellectually Disabled took part in the competition and achieved outstanding
success. In the 100-meter race, E.Muniyasamy secured first place in the men’s
category, while J. Kanimozhi won first place in the women’s category. In the
shot put competitions, P. Prabha came first in the women’s category for
students with intellectual disabilities. P. David Samraj, representing the
cerebral palsy category, won first place in the men’s standing shot put, while
J. Amala secured first place in the women’s standing shot put. Both P.David
Samraj and J.Amala have also been selected to participate in the upcoming
State-Level Sports Competition. All of them have
been selected for the state level sports competition.
Adding
to the school’s success, G. Gnanajyothi won second place in the women’s
intellectually disabled shot put category. In the 100-meter race, H. Shifa
Nisha finished third in the women’s category, and K. Udayamoorthy secured third
place in the men’s category. Altogether, the students made a remarkable record
by winning five first prizes, one second prize, and two third prizes.
The winners were warmly congratulated and honored by the school’s Managing Trustee Mr. P.S. Kathiresan, Secretary Mr. G. Palraj, and members Mr. R. Kodiyappan, Mr. A. Ilangumaran, and Mrs. G. Jansirani, along with the teachers. The program began with a welcome address by Ms. A. Sugirtha and Mrs. C. Manjumatha. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. A. Anna Guru, who expressed gratitude to all supporters and participants for making the event a memorable success.
